How you will learn
All of your lessons will be spent in a computer room where you will have individual access to a computer. You will work on your own or in small groups and will develop a range of relevant skills. This demanding course will offer you a variety of learning opportunities including assignments, case studies and practical projects. You will undertake a one-week Work Placement with a Creative or Digital bias as well as a Tutorial session. There will be ample opportunity to work in the Learning Resource Centre.
How you will be assessed
All three units require the creation of a portfolio of evidence, no external examination is involved. Your portfolio will be made up of assignments produced using a variety of software packages. To complete these assignments, you will need to collect information from a wide variety of sources including the college intranet and the Internet and design a product to a brief.
Other complementary subjects
This is a full time course on its own however students who have not achieved a GCSE Point 4 in Maths and English are required to retake them during the year.
