The elected members meet every week to discuss issues. Alisha recently attended the North West Youthoria conference in the Lake District. Alisha said “It was fantastic to meet so many inspirational young people from all over the North West’’.

Alisha is keen to support young carers and explained that “I am interested in running the Signpost campaign which supports carers’’ the conference gave me the opportunity to voice my views on the issues facing young people who have carers roles alongside full time education.

Alisha is currently taking BTEC sport qualifications at Marple Sixth Form College as well as taking FA coaching qualifications and participating in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. Alisha likes to keep busy doing what she loves. Her tutor Adam Hallsworth said

From the moment she stepped through the door during one of our Year 11 taster days, Alisha has been a breath of fresh air and has quickly become an outstanding addition to the college. “

“She has excelled in her BTEC studies, achieving Distinctions in every unit so far, whilst also coaching football for primary school age girls in the evenings after college.”

“She is an inspiration to her peers and I am very proud of all that she has achieved with us during her first year at college”
